 I'm working with some external contractors, and providing them with specs as detailed as I can manage - which I think may then be loosing a few key words when the designers get hold of them. Either that, of they are able to bend space and produce a display cabinet whose internal and external measurements are both exactly the same. I've had to produce this single, clear and easy to understand diagram, to explain my concerns with the proposed dimensions they sent back.

The People's History Museum tells us about the changes, movements, rebellions, and hard work of the average bod throughout the UK's history. The mash up of quiet stoicism, tolerance, intellect, explosive indignation, wit, humour, strength and much more which has led to the working classes managing to gain the vote, better hours, security... and very specially, this museum also helps you see what injustices still reside in our country today. The decision has drawn a lot of political attention, with many suggesting the museum has been targeted, as it tells stories the government are perhaps disinterested in, or even actively don't want to hear. Whatever your thoughts on why the cut is being made, Len McCluskey makes a solid point in The Guardian:
If we want to understand where our society is going in the future, our best chance is to look at how we got where we are today. If we loose the People's History Museum, we loose the strongest voice for exploring the majority who made that history.  Acrylic display plinths and risers! Doesn’t that get your heart pounding and little impulses whizzing giddily in your brain?! Yeah, me neither really. Except… after about three days of looking at options to vary height and create contrast in displays… I have had a few moments of keen. That piece of bent plastic, that one, right there, is so spot on! Awesome! It comes in ALL of the correct heights AND correct base dimensions. And there’s a FROSTED acrylic option?! Amazing! Is this normal during exhibition design? Anyone? But at it’s heart, is a group of men trying to kill for religious reasons. And Guy Fawkes had previously fought on the side trying to put down a popular revolt. The Dutch revolt against King Philip II was successful, and led to one of Europe’s first modern republics. It’s worth knowing some of the truth behind our myths and heroes.
