As part of a temporary exhibition there were very clever manikins set up with projectors, so that the blank face became a talking projection of an actor. It scared countless adults witless (to the howling delight of their less shocked friends) and left some children too traumatized to see the full exhibition.
So, I decided to try something new, with an older comic, just to see if I could. What do folks think?
You need a title for your next art exhibition. You want it to catch people's attention and then intrigue them, while being clear that you have higher concepts and that this is no mere local artists show - no! This is social commentary, you're unpicking the issues at the core of something or other and have work which challenges the boundaries of things!
For everyone who has ever looked at an exhibition title and thought "What?" or knows colleagues or art students who need a peg or two removing, go and play with: Rebecca Uchill's Random Exhibition Title Generator Examples include: Whither Illusion: Post-Painterly Art of Change After the Relevance: A Remix of Urban Experience For Love of Banality: Constructing a Praxis of the Avant Garde Looking for something to liven up fine art? Find yourself thinking inappropriate thoughts and giggling when in art galleries? Perhaps you or someone you know take art a bit too seriously and needs lightening up? Then you really need to watch this great set of animations showing what The Elegant Gentleman's guide to Knife Fighting (an aussie TV show) think about when they see fine art. Henceforth I will be applying raspberry noises to a great many paintings. ![]() Find a wasp stuck in a display cabinet, crawling over the contents, and take a slightly amusing picture of it being a nuisance. Post the image on the facebook feed for your venue, and watch it reach about twice the usual number of people as everyone likes and shares it. It amused me, but I had no idea it would tickle so many other people as well! |
